The NYISO Summer Strip Auction Bid period opens at 8AM on Wednesday March 29th.  The 2023 NYISO ICAP market Summer Capability Period will close on Thursday March 30th at 5PM.

Posting of auction results is scheduled for Friday, March 31st.

ESAI’s updated Market forecast to be shared with Capacity Watch subscribers early this week includes:

  • NYCA Summer 2023 Auction parameters and forecasted seasonal average clearing prices for NYCA (rest of state).
  • NYCA Demand Curves.
  • NYISO Retirements update.
  • Price forecast for the G-J Locality, including auction parameters.
  • New York City price forecast.

ESAI’s forecast for the Summer Capability Period for each New York ICAP locality include demand curves and expected supply in each zone.  These will be based upon the final auction parameters, which include:

  • Peak Load Forecast
  • Installed Reserve Margin (IRM) Requirement
  • Locational Capacity Requirements (LCRs)
  • Updated Demand Curve Reference Point (DCRP) Values
  • Market Average EFORd values for Summer 2023
