RRI (Reliability Resource Initiative) is a one-time opportunity for shovel-ready resources that can come online quickly and most effectively contribute to reliability. PJM will now use a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission-approved rating process to select up to 50 projects. This will provide an influx of reliable generation needed to help meet demand growth, in tandem with those resources that are already in PJM’s generation interconnection queue.

PJM’s Reliability Resource Initiative (RRI) | Generation Asset Monitor

On May 2, PJM selected 51 projects, totaling 11,793 MW, to join the Transition Cycle 2 (TC2) generation interconnection study group (AG2 and AH1 queues) through its Reliability Resource Initiative (RRI).  PJM had intended to select 50 projects in the RRI, however two projects received the same score, which resulted in PJM selecting 51 projects.
