Tom Bausemer, Chief Operating Officer

As our Chief Operating Officer, Tom Bausemer leads the ESAI Power practice, focusing on the New England, New York, and PJM and Midcontinent power markets. Tom brings over 25 years of experience in the information and commodity trading markets. Prior to joining ESAI Power, Tom spent 4 years as CRO at FastMarkets RISI, and also held senior management roles in consulting and business development at Forrester Research during his 11-year tenure.

Tom graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a BA in Journalism.

PJM Capacity Auctions Current and Future Schedule | Capacity Watch Blog

The PJM BRA for delivery year 2026/27 will take place in a few weeks. PJM is scheduled to open the offer window for the 2026/27 BRA on July 9th, 2025, for market participants. The Capacity auction window will close on July 16th, and PJM plans to post the auction results on July 22nd. The subsequent PJM Capacity Auction is scheduled in December. PJM is scheduled to open the offer window for 2027/28 BRA on December 4th for market participants. The auction window closes on December 10th, and PJM will post auction results on December 17th, 2025.

PJM’s Reliability Resource Initiative (RRI) | Generation Asset Monitor

On May 2, PJM selected 51 projects, totaling 11,793 MW, to join the Transition Cycle 2 (TC2) generation interconnection study group (AG2 and AH1 queues) through its Reliability Resource Initiative (RRI).  PJM had intended to select 50 projects in the RRI, however two projects received the same score, which resulted in PJM selecting 51 projects.

Wednesday, March 27th – The NYISO ICAP Summer 2024 Strip Auction Bid Period Opens.
Thursday, March 28th – The Summer Strip Auction Bid Period closes.
Monday, April 1st – Results of the auction are posted.
Tuesday, April 9th – First monthly auction for Summer 2024.
April 24th – 25th – May Spot Market Auction.
April 29th – May Spot Market Auction results are posted.
